Transducer

As measurement converters are in accordance with DIN 1319 such measuring equipment ( meter , measuring device , normally called, ...), which convert their input into an output signal with a different structure; In this case, measurement signals can have an analog or digital signal structure, possibly also differently digitally coded structures. Measurement converters are therefore divided into

• Analog-to-digital converter
• Digital-to-analog converter
• Code converter

The converters deliver their information as

• visible display or
• electrical signal, but also one
• internal storage is possible.

There are a number of competing interfaces for the electrical signal if the information is to be directly integrated in a facility of automation technology , such as B .:

• RS232
• RS485
• Synchronous serial interface (SSI)
• Profibus
• Ethernet
• FSK bus

Measuring converters often offer galvanic separation of the measured and output variables.
