Metal Inquisitor is a German heavy metal band. It was founded in 1998 by Blumi. The band has released several demos, two singles and four albums so far.

history

Metal Inquisitor was founded in 1997 by Blumi. Shortly afterwards the band was completed by drummer Witchhammer ("Tormentor" by Desaster), singer El Rojo and bassist KronoS. You immediately began to write your own pieces in the classic metal style. As a result, a demo with three songs was released the following year and the single "Seven Inches for the Second Attack" a year later. In 2000 Witchhammer left the band. Since the decision was made to play with two guitarists in the future, TP (guitar) and Havoc (drums) were accepted into the band, who had already played in the original and joint cover project "The Left Rhine Happy Natures".

Together with the new band members, the first album was recorded in 2002. The debut album was released under the name "The Apparition" on Iron Glory Records. After getting mostly very positive reviews for the album, they then went on the "The Apparition Tour 2002/2003". In 2004 he performed at well-known festivals such as the Rock Hard and Keep It True Festival. Despite the troupe slowly gaining popularity, Iron Glory Records canceled the record deal. In spring 2005 a new record company could be found with Hellion Records and in November 2005 the second album "Doomsday for the Heretic" was released. This time the reviews were profuse and the band got a lot of support, especially from Rock Hard magazine. In the late summer of 2006, KronoS went its own way for private reasons. He was replaced by Dutch G, with whom they continued to work on the third album. At the beginning of 2008 KronoS returned to the band. In addition, the band officially celebrated their tenth anniversary in March 2008. In October 2010 KronoS could no longer be there for health reasons and was replaced by Cliff Bubenheim on bass. In November 2010 the 3rd album "Unconditional Absolution" was released, but it was still recorded with KronoS on bass and immediately won the Richter scale in the Rock Hard issue 12/2010. For 2011, the band had several appearances at relevant German festivals (Rock Hard Festival, Headbangers Open Air, Bang Your Head etc.).

With the fourth album “Ultima Ratio Regis”, Metal Inquisitor will continue on the path that has been successful up to now and in doing so will reflect on the old virtues of Classic Metal. After the release at the beginning of 2014, the band will again present itself live and also act internationally.

In January 2019 the fifth studio album "Panopticon" was released via Massacre Records.

style

The goal has been set to found a band that should be shaped by the sound of old, traditional heavy metal. Sometimes they are ascribed a resemblance to Iron Maiden and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Metal Inquisitor also sound like American bands like Metal Church. The texts deal with a variety of things, for example politics, inquisitors or personal experiences while driving a car.
