Metalucifer is a side project of Gezol, the founding member of the thrash and black metal band Sabbat . The band plays traditional, from the European speed - and power metal influenced heavy metal . There is a Japanese and a German line-up of Metalucifer. The album covers usually show Neal "Metal Master" Tanaka, a fanatical record collector known in Japan.
Band history
Gezol founded the band in 1995 in Kuwana (Japan) together with his bandmate Elizaveat (ex-Sabbath) and his brother Elizabagore from the band Gore. The name comes from the Sabbath song Metalucifer and Evilucifer . First some EPs were released in Asia, until finally the Heavy Metal Hunter EP was released as a strictly limited version in Europe. The debut album Heavy Metal Drill followed in 1996 and was re-released via Iron Pegasus Records from Germany with a different cover and a slightly changed track list ( Bloody Countess was replaced by an unreleased version of Monsters of the Earth ). With this release, the band also achieved a certain level of awareness in Europe. No concerts were initially planned, but a tour through Germany took place in 2000; Since the departure costs were too high for the rest of the band members, Gezol toured with Tormentor from Desaster on drums and Blumi from Metal Inquisitor on guitar.
In 2000 the single Warriors Again / Soul of Warriors was released , on which Bill Andrews (ex- Death , ex- Massacre ) played the drums. In 2001 the album Heavy Metal Chainsaw was released as a joint project of the German and Japanese cast. In 2002 there was a live performance at the Wacken Open Air . In spring 2009 the 3rd studio album Heavy Metal Bulldozer was released in three different versions (with Japanese cast in English and Japanese, with German cast in English and a changed track list).
