Metin Erksan
Metin Erksan (born January 1, 1929 in Çanakkale , Turkey , † August 4, 2012 in Istanbul ) was a Turkish film director , actor and art historian . His film Susuz yaz won the main prize at the Berlinale in 1964 .
Erksan studied art history at Istanbul University . He directed 42 films, two of which he also produced, and wrote the scripts for 29 films. In 1998 he appeared in the title role of Alim Hoca .

- Golden Bear of the Berlin International Film Festival 1964 for the drama Susuz yaz
- "Best Director at the 1965 İzmir Film Festival for Suçlular Aramızda
- "Best Director" and "Best Picture" at the 1969 Adana Film Festival for Kuyu .
- Honored at the Antalya Film Festival in 1987
