The Pyongyang Metro Museum (메트로 박물관 평양) is a railway museum that mainly deals with the Pyongyang Metro . It was opened to the public in 1973 .
In addition to the in North Korea usual propaganda diverse are exhibits on display, including items that Kim Il-sung in connection with the metro and the construction of the Metro used ( pen , chair , microphone , etc.). Technical backgrounds as well as special challenges and difficulties during construction are also highlighted. Realistic and detailed dioramas are also part of the exhibition.
The museum is located on Kŭmsŏng Street in the Pyongyang district of Moranbong-guyŏk ( Chŏnu-dong administrative unit ). Slightly offset in front of the museum building is an " immortality tower ", which is supposed to commemorate the deceased heads of state Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il.
