Davao Metro

The Davao Metropolitan Area , also known as Metro Davao , is one of the 12 metropolitan areas in the Philippines . It is located on the island of Mindanao .

In terms of population, it is the third largest of the Philippine metropolitan regions , and the second largest in terms of area. In 2015 it had around 2.5 million inhabitants (definition by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)).

This area is named after Davao City and consists of five cities and two parishes. Metro Davao is integrated into national traffic through the Francisco Bangoy International Airport . With its population growth of around 2.5% per year over the last 25 years, Metro Davao ranks among the top of the twelve metropolises in the Philippines after Metro Cebu and Metro Cagayan de Oro .
