Metro Cagayan de Oro
The Cagayan de Oro Metropolitan Area , also called Metro Cagayan de Oro or Metro CdO , is one of the 12 metropolitan areas of the Philippines . It is located on the island of Mindanao .
In terms of population, it is the fourth largest of the Philippine metropolitan regions and the largest in terms of area. In 2015 it had about 1.34 million inhabitants (definition of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)).
This area is named after the city of Cagayan de Oro and consists of 15 other cities and towns. This also includes extremely rural areas, so that only about 10% can be described as urbanized . Metro CdO is integrated into national traffic through the Laguindingan International Airport , which was completed in 2013 . With a population growth of approx. 2.6% per year over the last 25 years, Metro Cagayan de Oro is after Metro Cebu in the top field of the twelve Philippine metropolises.
