Hodanová began playing volleyball in the youth team of Lokomotiva Plzen , where she was active until 2012 before moving to the youth team of the Czech capital club PVK Olymp Prague . There she played for the first team from 2013 and was Czech vice-champion at the end of the 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons and was in the cup final with her club. At the end of the 2015/16 season she won the league with the PVK Olymp Prague .

At the end of June 2016, Dresdner SC announced Eva Hodanová's engagement. She initially signed a two-year contract in Dresden until 2018. In her first league game on October 22, 2016, Hodanová suffered a cruciate ligament and meniscus tear, so she was out for the rest of the season. It wasn't until the beginning of her second season in Dresden, in October 2017, that she celebrated her comeback. In the 2017/18 season she won the DVV Cup with Dresdner SC and made it to the playoff semi-finals . After the end of the season, Dresdner SC announced in April 2018 that Hodanová's expiring contract would not be extended.

She then signed a one-year contract with SC Potsdam . In her first season (2018/19) with the Potsdam team, she made it into the play-off semi-finals in the battle for the German championship and the semi-finals of the DVV Cup . There the team failed - both in the battle for the championship and in the cup semi-finals - against the eventual cup winners and runner-up SSC Palmberg Schwerin and thus became third in the championship. For the club it was the best result that it has ever achieved since its promotion to the volleyball Bundesliga (2009). After the end of the season, the club announced the extension of the expiring contract with the outside attacker by one year at the end of May 2019.

National team

The outside attacker has been part of the Czech national team since 2013 . Since then she has taken part in the Volleyball World Grand Prix four times and was part of the Czech squad for the 2013 and 2015 European Championships .

Private

In 2016 she completed her bachelor's degree in " International Economic Relations ".
