The Czech national women's volleyball team is a selection of the best Czech female players who represent the Czech Federation (Český Volejbalový Svaz) at international tournaments and internationals. The Czechoslovak national volleyball team played until 1993 .

history

World Championship

The Czechs took part in the 1994 World Cup for the first time after becoming independent and finished ninth. In 2002 they were there again, but were eliminated from the group in the preliminary round despite two winners. In their last World Cup participation in 2010 , they reached the second group stage, in which, however, they lost all games.

Olympic games

Since becoming independent, the Czech women have not qualified for the Olympic Games .

European Championship

At the European Championships in 1995, the Czechs were eliminated in the preliminary round and finished tenth. In 1997 they won the game for third place against Bulgaria in their own country . After a missed tournament in 2001 they did not get past eleventh place. In 2003 they were eliminated without a win in the preliminary round. At the next tournament they were missing again. At the EM 2007 they came into the second group stage and finished ninth. Two years later , they also reached tenth place after the second group stage. In 2011 they lost to Germany in the quarter-finals . In 2013 they lost the playoff game against France . In the same round in 2015 they had to admit defeat to the Belgians . With a defeat against Belarus they missed the quarter-finals in 2017 as well . They did not qualify for the EM 2019.

World cup

The Czech Republic has not yet participated in the World Cup .

World Grand Prix

During World Grand Prix , the Czechs in 2013 took part for the first time and came to 14th place. A year later they lost the final in the third division. In 2015 they reached third place in the second division. There they finished sixth in 2016. In the last edition in 2017, they lost to the German team in the game for third place in the second division.

European League

In the 2011 Europa League , the Czechs lost the game for third place against Bulgaria. In 2012 they won the tournament against the same opponent.
