The Latvian national volleyball team is a selection of the best Latvian women players who represent the Latvijas Volejbola Federâcija association in international tournaments and internationals. The team was formed in 1991 after the fall of the Soviet Union .
history
The Latvian women finished ninth at the 1993 and 1995 European volleyball championships . In 1997 they climbed to eighth place. The Latvians have never qualified for the volleyball world championships or the Olympic Games. The World Cup and the World Grand Prix have also taken place without Latvian participation so far.
