The Slovenian national women's volleyball team is a selection of the best Slovenian players who represent Odbojkarska Zveza Slovenije in international tournaments and internationals.

history

Slovenian teams have been participating in international competitions since independence in 1991. Before that, the volleyball players were part of the Yugoslav national team .

World championships

Slovenia has never qualified for a volleyball world championship. In qualifying for the 2018 World Cup , the team finished second in the group behind Germany and in the last qualifying round still has the chance to participate in the first finals.

Olympic games

Slovenia has never participated in an Olympic volleyball tournament.

European championships

At the European Championship in 2015 , Slovenia adopted the first time participate in the finals. The team retired as the bottom of the group without a win in the first round. In qualifying for the 2017 European Championship , Slovenia had to admit defeat in the second round.

World cup

On Volleyball World Cup Slovenia has not previously been involved.

World Grand Prix

The Volleyball World Grand Prix has also taken place without Slovenia so far.

European League

Slovenia has taken part in the Europa League twice so far . In 2014 , the team finished bottom of the group in the preliminary round and thus finished seventh. The greatest success so far came in 2016 , when Slovenia reached the semi-finals as group winners and finished third after losing to Slovakia .
