The Austrian national volleyball team for women is a selection of the best Austrian players who represent the Austrian Volleyball Association at international tournaments and international matches.

history

World Championship

When they first took part in a volleyball world championship , the Austrians were 15th, one place ahead of the German women . In 1962, however, the DVV team was 13th, one place better than Austria.

Olympic games

Austria has never qualified for the Olympic Games.

European Championship

At the European volleyball championships in 1958 and 1963, the Austrian women finished twelfth. After the missed tournament in 1967, they finished 17th in 1971.

World cup

The World Cup has so far taken place without Austrian participation.

World Grand Prix

In the World Grand Prix Austria has not yet played.

European League

Austria competed in the European League for the first time in 2017 and could only achieve one victory in the group games. In 2018, however, the Austrians created a sensation, penetrated into the final and only had to admit defeat to hosts Sweden. As a reward for this success, the team can compete in the Golden European League in 2019.
