Malitbog is a metropolitan parish in Bukidnon Province on Mindanao Island in the Philippines . It has 24,453 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 11 barangays . It belongs to the second income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .
It is located about 80 km north of the provincial capital Malaybalay City , the journey time by bus is around two and a half hours, and 40 km west of the regional capital Cagayan de Oro , the journey time by bus is around 2 hours. Their neighboring communities are Tagoloan in the north, Claveria in the west, Manolo Fortich in the south and Impasug-ong in the east. The topography of the municipality is described as mountainous with large canyon-like valleys and large plateaus .
The Pigsuguan Hills are about 3 km outside of the Barangay Siloo, from the hills you have a panoramic view over the northern Bukidnon. The Saray Canyon is located in the area of the Barangay Santa Ines. The Silo-o River is located in the Barangay Silo-o of the same name and is the largest river in the municipality. Lake Malagana is located in Barangay Kalingking, it is a hunting area for wild ducks.
