Damulog is a metropolitan parish in Bukidnon Province on Mindanao Island in the Philippines . It has 30,302 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 17 barangays . It belongs to the fourth income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized . It became an independent administrative unit of a municipality in January 1972 with the entry into force of the Republic of the Philippines Act 6369.
Its neighboring communities are Kibawe in the north, Kadingilan in the west and Carmen in the province of Cotabato in the south. The municipality is located approx. 85 km southeast of the provincial capital Malaybalay City , approx. 178 km south of the regional capital Cagayan de Oro . The topography of the municipality is described as gently rolling flat land. The name Damulog is derived from the word Ramulog, which means to take a bath in the Manobo language .
The Minlaya Falls are located in Sitio Minlaya, Poblacion, have a drop height of approx. 20 meters and a water pool approx. 5 meters deep. The very striking Mount Pigtayuan protrudes about 80 meters from the plain, its flanks have a gradient of 30 to 50 percent. In the area of the municipality there are numerous springs with small lakes such as the Malingling spring in Barangay Old Damulog, the Lagasan and Kapiling spring in Barangay New Compostela and the Pangantapan spring in Barangay Migcawayan.
