Alandur metro station

The metro station Alandur ( Tamil : ஆலந்தூர் ) is an above-ground subway station of Chennai Metro . It is located in the Alandur district on the Grand Southern Trunk Road in southern Chennai. At the Alandur metro station you can change between the blue and green lines of the Chennai metro.

The Alandur station was opened on June 29, 2015 as the temporary terminus of the first section of the Green Line. Since September 21, 2016 it has also been served by the Blue Line. On October 14, 2016, the Green Line was extended to St. Thomas Mount .

The Alandur station is designed as a tower station . It has two platforms one above the other. The lower platform of the Blue Line is 27 meters, the upper platform of the Green Line 35 meters above street level.
