Mevlüt Türksoy

Mevlüt Türksoy (* 1976 in Afyon ) is a Turkish industrial engineer, entrepreneur and international management consultant with a German background.

Life

Türksoy studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Berlin with studies abroad at the University of California, Santa Barbara in California and with a grant from the Migros Foundation for the gifted at the Institut Eurocentre in Paris. He received his doctorate from the University of Duisburg-Essen on the subject of international mergers & acquisitions with a focus on company mergers between companies from mature markets and emerging markets . Due to personal development and the retirement of the doctoral supervisor, the doctorate was not given to the Rigorosum .

After graduating, he was accepted into the international junior research group within the Daimler Group (then Daimler-Benz Industries AEG ) with positions in Belgium, Germany, Paris and Turkey. After the sale of the energy division of AEG of the Daimler Group to GEC Alsthom , he moved to the world's leading management consultancy McKinsey & Company, where he was involved in setting up the Istanbul office.

At the beginning of 2000 he founded the Kötter Bina ve Tesis Yönetimi A.Ş. in cooperation with the German Kötter group of companies. based in Istanbul. With Ata Holding LLC, Azerbaijan, he expanded to Baku in 2004 to establish a joint service group.

As a representative for the Turkic countries , he founded ETIRC Aviation Sarl in 2006 , which, together with entrepreneur Roel Pieper from the Netherlands and Kamil Ekim Alptekin from Turkey, offers business trips with Very Light Jets in Eastern Europe. This is where the first twin-engine Jet Eclipse 500 designed for the broader market , in which Microsoft founder Bill Gates was also involved, was launched.

Together with Stoof International GmbH , he founded a plant in Istanbul in 2005 for the production of armored vehicles and the company Protectas as a provider of money and valuables transport.

As a partner, consultant or in a managerial position, he continued to play a key role in the construction and management of shopping centers, resort hotels and industrial properties. So he has z. E.g. the packaging and logistics for Haribo in Turkey were set up and managed under sole responsibility, the Beylicium shopping center in Istanbul built and managed and the Pegasos Hotel in Incekum completed and managed.

For the Turkish parliamentary elections in 2007 he was set up as a candidate at the invitation of the later Minister for European Affairs Egemen Bağış . During the bankruptcy wave of the global economic crisis , his company was liquidated in 2012. He was also arrested in connection with this and then released. As part of the acquisition of Istanbul Bilgi University , he first acted as a consultant and then as Chief Operating Officer and member of the executive committee.
