Mey Alasadi , born Mey Al-Kotob (also Al-Koutoub) (* 14. June 1972 in Beirut ) is a twelvefold German Karate - Champion kg in weight class to 53 in DKV . She is holder of the 2nd Dan Shōtōkan karate.

Life

In Beirut born in 1972, Mey Alasadi moved already with six years from Reutlingen , where she grew up. She started karate when she was 15. After only two years she became German Karate Champion. Between 1990 and 1995 Alasadi dominated the women's karate at DKV together with her national team colleague Saskia Hummel . At first she competed in the weight class up to 53 kg, later also in the all category .

Because of her achievements, national coach Hideo Ochi brought her to the German national women's karate team. After acquiring German citizenship , she was also able to start internationally for Germany. From 1990 to 1997 she was a member of the national team . In 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1995 she became German Karate Champion .
