Mher Khachatryan

Mher Khachatryan (* 1983 ) is an Armenian artist.

Life

Khachatryan was born in Armenia in 1983. He was interested in art at the age of five. When he discovered his uncle's pictures, he taught himself to draw and shortly afterwards he began to paint. Khachatryan was self-taught at the time ; after middle school in 1994 he attended Hakob Kojoyan's art school where he studied all aspects of art including anatomy , sculpture , watercolor , figure painting , drawing and still life . From 1998 to 2000 Khachatryan studied at the Panos Terlemezyan School of Art and in 2000 went to the Academy of Fine Arts.

In 2003 Mher Khachatryan moved to New York City , USA , where he still lives and works. At the beginning of his career he painted alone. He also began showing his art in galleries in the area, including the Hanna Gallery in New Jersey, the Narekatsy Gallery in Armenia, and the Webster Hall in New York. Mher Khachatryan's work has been published in magazines and newspapers, as well as at art fairs. His oil paintings often show scenes in which smoke plays an elementary role.
