The Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) is an authority founded in December 1994 in the US state of Florida . Since 1997, it has operated and maintained five highways in Miami-Dade County that were previously owned by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
- Gratigny Parkway ( SR 924)
- Airport Expressway (SR 112)
- Dolphin Expressway (SR 836)
- Don Shula Expressway (SR 874)
- Snapper Creek Expressway (SR 878)
To maintain the roads and the entire authority, tolls are levied on each of the five roads over their entire length or individual sections. Since 2010, this has been done purely electronically on three of the five streets using the SunPass system . Vehicles without a transponder are recorded using the license plate for billing purposes. All roads will be converted to this method by the end of 2013.
