The Florida State Road 878 is a state highway in the US state of Florida , the locally as Snapper Creek Expressway known and completely highway-like is removed. It connects to a length of about four kilometers southwest of Miami in Miami-Dade County , the State Road 874 to the US Highway 1 . The road is operated by the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority .

Route

The SR 878 branches off at Sunset on the Don Shula Expressway (SR 874) heading west and crosses State Road 973 at a first junction where it reaches the border with Glenvar Heights . It then crosses the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) without a connection, then crosses SW 72nd Avenue at a second junction and finally flows into US Highway 1.

Tolls have been recorded electronically since July 17, 2010. The expressway has a toll bridge west and east of State Road 973, at which $ 0.40 ($ 0.25 with SunPass ) is collected in both directions .

history

Construction of the line began in 1971; in 1980 it was finally completed after a five-year delay.
