Sunset is around 10 km west of Miami and the Florida State Roads 821 ( Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike , toll road), 874 ( Don Shula Expressway , a toll road), 878 ( Snapper Creek Expressway , a toll road), 973 , 985 and 986 crosses or affects.

According to the 2010 census, the then 16,389 inhabitants were distributed over 5,452 households. The population density was 1781.4 inh / km². 93.4% of the population identified themselves as white , 1.3% as African-American , 0.1% as Native American and 2.0% as Asian Americans . 1.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.4% to several ethnic groups. 80.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
