Key Biscayne is a municipality in Miami-Dade County in the US state of Florida with 12,344 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
The community is located on the island of the same name, Key Biscayne , which is connected to the mainland by Florida State Road 913 . The mainland is 10 km away, and the island of Virginia Key , which is already part of Miami, is 5 km from the municipality. The place is bordered to the north by Crandon Park , to the south by Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park , to the west by Biscayne Bay and to the east by the Atlantic Ocean .

Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 12,344 inhabitants were distributed among 7,072 households. The population density was 3740.6 inh / km². 96.2% of the population identified themselves as whites , 0.4% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 1.1% as Asian Americans . 1.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.2% to several ethnic groups. 61.6% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 38.5% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 33.0% of all households. 71.7% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.62 people and the average family size was 3.13 people.
29.7% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 17.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 23.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 42 years. 46.4% of the population were male and 53.6% were female.
The median annual income was $ 114,250, with 5.8% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 30.83% of the population, 59.73% spoke Spanish and 9.44% had another mother tongue.
Attractions
The Cape Florida Lighthouse and Fowey Rocks Light are listed on the National Register of Historic Places .
The Miami Masters took place in the Tennis Center at Crandon Park from 1987 to 2018 .

The crime rate in 2010 was 91 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There were two personal injuries, eight break-ins, 170 thefts and 13 car thefts.
