Pinecrest is a municipality in Miami-Dade County in the US state of Florida with 18,223 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Pinecrest is 4 miles southwest of Miami . Adjacent communities are Coral Gables , South Miami, and Palmetto Bay .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 18,223 inhabitants were distributed over 6,619 households. The population density was 934.5 inh / km². 90.1% of the population identified themselves as whites, 2.0% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 5.3% as Asian Americans . 0.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.6% to several ethnic groups. 41.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 25.6% of all households lived in 42.3% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 79.2% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.94 and the average family size was 3.32.
29.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 17.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 35.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 17.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 42 years. 48.7% of the population were male and 51.3% were female.
The median annual income was $ 108,403, with 5.5% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 58.08% of the population, 35.07% spoke Spanish and 6.85% had another mother tongue.

On October 17, 2011, the Parrot Jungle Historic District was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .
traffic
The municipality is affected in the west by US Highway 1 ( SR 5 ). From here the SR 826 ( Palmetto Expressway ) branches off. The Miami International Airport is located about 15 km north of Pinecrest.
The Dadeland North and Dadeland South stations of the Miami-Dade Metrorail are on the northwestern edge of Pinecrest. The suburban train connects you to the center of Miami and the airport.
