Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 31,973 inhabitants were distributed over 9,391 households. The population density was 2,960.5 inh / km². 82.3% of the population identified themselves as white, 7.8% as African American , 0.2% as Native American, and 2.0% as Asian Americans . 4.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.0% to several ethnic groups. 78.5% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 23.6% of all households lived in 54.6% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 89.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.57 people and the average family size was 3.68 people.

29.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 26.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 12.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 37 years. 48.6% of the population were male and 51.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 67,354, with 6.4% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 24.48% of the population, 73.23% spoke Spanish and 2.29% had another mother tongue.
