Ives Estates is a census-designated place (CDP) in Miami-Dade County in the US state of Florida with 19,525 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Ives Estates borders the city of West Park ( Broward County ) to the north and is approximately 15 km north of Miami . The CDP is affected by Interstate 95 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 19,525 inhabitants were distributed over 8,103 households. The population density was 2829.7 inh / km². 40.3% of the population identified themselves as whites, 50.0% as African American , 0.3% as Indians and 3.0% as Asian Americans . 3.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.5% to several ethnic groups. 27.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 23.7% of all households lived in 37.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 66.9% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.65 people and the average family size was 3.23 people.

26.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 29.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 15.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 36 years. 45.6% of the population were male and 54.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 49,647, with 15.9% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 54.26% of the population, 24.46% spoke Spanish and 11.28% spoke another language.
