Kendall is a census-designated place (CDP) in Miami-Dade County in the US state of Florida with 75,371 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Kendall borders the city of Pinecrest to the east and is about ten kilometers southwest of Miami . The CDP is accessible from US Highway 1 and Florida State Roads 94 , 821 ( Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike , toll), 826 ( Palmetto Expressway ), 874 ( Don Shula Expressway , toll), 973 , 985 , 986 , 990 and 993 crosses or touches. Kendall is connected to the Miami-Dade Metrorail in the direction of downtown Miami via the Dadeland South and Dadeland North stations .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 75,371 inhabitants were distributed over 31,813 households. The population density was 1794.5 inhabitants / km². 87.9% of the population identified themselves as white , 4.4% as African-American , 0.1% as Native American and 3.0% as Asian Americans . 2.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 63.7% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 32.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 29.2% of all households. 68.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.09.

23.0% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 20.9% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 46.4% of the population were male and 53.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 57,927, with 10.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 40.39% of the population, 52.47% spoke Spanish and 7.14% had another mother tongue.
