Kendall West is a census-designated place (CDP) in Miami-Dade County in the US state of Florida with 36,154 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Kendall West is about 20 km west of Miami . The CDP is affected by Florida State Road 94 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 36,154 inhabitants were distributed over 12,054 households. The population density was 4108.4 inh / km². 89.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 3.2% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 1.2% as Asian Americans . 3.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 88.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 45.4% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 26.1% of all households. 82.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.13 people and the average family size was 3.37 people.

26.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 27.5% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.6% were 40 to 59 years old, and 15.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 38 years. 46.9% of the population were male and 53.1% were female.

The median annual income was $ 45,412, with 15.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 13.49% of the population, 84.44% spoke Spanish and 2.07% had another mother tongue.
