The Florida State Road 112 is a state highway in the US state of Florida , the western section locally as Airport Expressway known and almost entirely highway-like is removed. It runs over a length of 15 kilometers from Miami to Miami Beach within Miami-Dade County . The eastern section of the expressway is also known as Interstate 195 . The road is operated by the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority .
Route
The SR 112 begins approximately 1 km north of the main entrance to Miami Airport at the point where US Highway 27 meets State Roads 948 and 953 . From here, the road crosses first the State Road 9 before being sent to a motorway interchange on Interstate 95 meets. This is where the name of the street as the Airport Expressway ends . Further in an easterly direction, the road (additionally) crosses US Highway 1 as Interstate 195 before it leads over the Julia Tuttle Causeway to Miami Beach . There it first meets State Road 907 and then State Road A1A , only to end a few meters later in a dead end on the Boardwalk of Miami Beach. Already at the SR 907, about 1.5 km before its end, its autobahn-like condition ends and turns into a shopping street (41st Street / Arthur Godfrey Road) characterized by Jewish shops and facilities.

The section between State Road 9 and Interstate 95 is tolled for traffic traveling eastward. A fee of $ 1.25 ($ 1.00 with SunPass ) must be paid. Use of the westward carriageway is free of charge.
history
The first construction work on the expressway first called 36th Street Tollway began in 1959. On December 23, the road from Miami Beach to Miami at the intersection with US 27, SR 948 and SR 953 was opened to traffic. In 1990, the extension was built up to the direct airport access at the level of NW 21st Street .
