The Florida State Road 934 is a state highway in the US state of Florida , which locally on a section as Hialeah Expressway is known. It runs for a good 13 miles from Medley to Miami Beach within Miami-Dade County . The road is operated by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Route

The SR 934 begins in Medley, northwest of Miami , where it branches off from State Road 826 ( Palmetto Expressway ), then crosses US Highway 27 without intersection and finally crosses State Road 823 . Up to this point the road has been developed like a freeway and is called the Hialeah Expressway . Further east State Road meets as a normal city street by Hialeah to the State Road 953 and then passed through the Tri-Rail and Metrorail Transfer Station . Miami's Amtrak train station , which is currently still in operation, is also in the immediate vicinity . Until the next intersection with State Road 9 , the SR 934 is also accompanied by the Metrorail's green line, which also starts in Medley, but then turns south with the SR 9. At the city limits of Miami ( Little River district ), US 441 ( SR 7 ) and Interstate 95 are crossed in direct succession . Next, the line crosses the tracks of the Florida East Coast Railway and US 1 before crossing the city of North Bay Village and Biscayne Bay as the John F. Kennedy Causeway . Eventually it leads to Miami Beach, where it meets and ends on State Road A1A .

A western extension of SR 934, NW 74th Street , opened in 2010 and connects the Palmetto Expressway with the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike (SR 821), but is not signposted as a State Road.
