The Tri-Rail and Metrorail Transfer Station is a junction station at the junction of the Tri-Rail- operated regional traffic between Miami Airport and Mangonia Park in Palm Beach County and the Metrorail operated by Miami-Dade County . It is located between the suburb of Hialeah and the CDP West Little River, northwest of the metropolitan area of Miami , Florida .
In the immediate vicinity is also the Amtrak- operated long-distance train station in Miami, which was abandoned in favor of the opening of the Miami Airport Station .
function
On the lower level, the Tri-Rail regional trains run in a north-south direction and stop at two side platforms. There is a connection via stairs and elevators to the upper level to the green line of the Metrorail, which runs in a west-east direction . The suburban trains also run from here on two side platforms on the one hand out of town towards Medley and inwards towards Downtown Miami and in a curve to Kendall southwest of the city.
There is a high volume of traffic at the station during rush hour. With the opening of the new Miami Airport Station, however, a large part of the traffic has shifted to the city center due to shorter travel times.
