Propios y extraños is an episode film directed by Manolo González. The Spanish-German-Argentine co-production is based on a script by Manolo González and Guillermo Santana and accompanies 14 main characters in Madrid and Buenos Aires , who are connected simply by the fact that they all listen to the same radio talk show in the evening. Chance and luck play a central role in the film, whose stories revolve around love, violence and infidelity.

The summer is hot and those who cannot sleep at night can listen to the talk show “Propios y extraños”, around which the episode film is built. Four central stories are told, all of which have to do more or less with the search for a fulfilling coexistence.
After seeing how their neighbor abuses his wife over and over again, a group of young people decided to take matters into their own hands and practice vigilante justice in order to bring the perpetrator to reason.
A young girl, on the other hand, does not hesitate for a long time to use her physical stimuli in a targeted manner to finance the expensive pharmacy studies. And even after she has decided to give up the part-time job as a call girl and finally marry her long-time boyfriend, she still doesn't want to give up sexually to unknown partners.
A former make-up artist, who last worked in a funeral home, is blackmailed by a colleague because he saw him act out his necrophilic tendencies on the corpse of a beautiful deceased woman. The blackmailer demands 5,000 euros in hush money and threatens to otherwise notify the make-up artist's wife and thus destroy his family life. Since he cannot raise the required amount, the cornered one ultimately resorts to self-defense.
And finally there is the story of a young writer who shows how a moment can change your whole life and how much it is worth believing in that moment.
In addition to these four main threads, which are interwoven, there are a number of sub-stories that also take up the given topic and vary in different ways.
