The Miami Tower (also known by the former name of the Bank of America Tower ) is a 47-story skyscraper and a landmark of the city of Miami . The building, which was built for the company CenTrust Savings & Loan , is one of the 10th tallest structures in the city of Miami and the state of Florida with a height of 191 meters. The building is best known for its elaborately designed night lighting. The tower consists of two separate parts. Below is the ten story high garage, which was built from 1982 to 1983. A year later, 37 more floors were completed and construction work on the entire structure was completed in 1987.
