history

In 1951 the Federation of Migros Cooperatives (MGB) took over the soap and perfume factory Rumpf AG in Zurich , whose capacity soon proved to be too small. After the MGB had founded Mibelle AG in 1961, one year later it relocated the entire production to a newly established factory in Buchs. Together with Gifa , Mibelle AG had its headquarters in Basel , but in 1967 it also relocated to Buchs. The product range was continuously expanded in the following decades and in 1993 the company entered the export business.

In March 2010, Mibelle AG took over the British cosmetics manufacturer Hallam Beauty in Bradford , which has since been known as Mibelle Ltd. operates. In February 2012, the Mibelle Group was founded as the joint umbrella brand of Mibelle AG, Mibelle Ltd. and Mifa AG introduced. At the beginning of 2015, the Mibelle Group took over the majority in another British cosmetics manufacturer, the Quantum Beauty Company in Wokingham . On July 31, 2016, Mibelle acquired the Ondal France Sarl production site in Sarreguemines from Procter & Gamble, with around 180 employees. On June 29, 2018, the expansion to South Korea took place with the takeover of Gowoonsesang Cosmetics Co., Ltd. based in Seoul .

In 2018 there were media reports of a marked drop in sales and staff cuts at the British branch in Bradford, which can be attributed to the uncertainties surrounding Brexit .
