history
At the end of October 1932, Migros bought a factory building on Giessliweg in Basel and converted it into an oil mill and press. At the beginning of 1933 she founded Gifa AG (the acronym stands for “Giessliweg factories”). In 1934 Gifa began producing detergents , and also took over the production of edible fats and oils from Produktion AG Meilen (now Midor ) . From 1961 Mibelle had its company headquarters at the same location, but in 1967 it moved to Buchs AG . Gifa gradually reached the limits of its capacity.
