Alfred Adolf Häsler (born March 19, 1921 in Wilderswil ; † April 7, 2009 in Zurich ) was a Swiss journalist and writer . He became known in particular for his depiction of Swiss refugee policy under the title Das Boot ist voll , the literary template for the film of the same name by Markus Imhoof .

During the Second World War he wrote against National Socialism and helped with refugee care in Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Poland. Towards the end of the war he joined the communist movement and became a member of the Labor Party (PdA) ; In 1956, after the crackdown on the Hungarian uprising , he resigned. In 1948 he married the Polish resistance fighter Zofia Pawliszewska.

From 1958 to 1977 he worked as an editor for Tat , then until 1984 of Weltwoche , and from 1964 to 1985 for the magazine of Ex Libris , and also as a freelancer for Swiss television and radio . Central themes of his engagement as a critic of the times were xenophobia, youth problems and environmental protection.
