The Society for Minorities in Switzerland (GMS) is a Swiss society founded in 1983 with headquarters in Zurich . The founder and founder of the company was the Zurich lawyer Sigi Feigel , and Alfred A. Häsler was a co-founder .

Foundation goal

The company supports linguistic and cultural minorities in Switzerland in their endeavors to maintain and develop their historical uniqueness and to promote cooperation between the minorities. It wants to maintain and promote the understanding of the population for the importance of such minorities in a pluralistic , free constitutional state and to combat all forms of discrimination .

Fields of activity

The society works with the Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism GRA and the Foundation Education for Tolerance SET.

Fischhof Prize

Together with the Foundation against Racism and Anti-Semitism, the GMS awards the Nanny and Erich Fischhof Prize every two years to personalities or institutions who have made a name for themselves in the fight against racism and anti-Semitism in Switzerland.
