Micang Street

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Micang Street ( Chinese  米倉道  /  米仓道 , Pinyin Mǐcāng dào ) is an ancient Shu Road between Hanzhong (see also Hanzhong level ) and Sichuan . Its name comes from the Micang Shan mountains that it crosses. It is an important link between Hanzhong and Sichuan.

From the south of Hanzhong it follows the course of the Lengshui He , a tributary of the Han River , and later that of the Ba Jiang , a tributary of the Jialing Jiang , and reaches Bazhong in Sichuan .

When Mongol troops invaded Sichuan on three routes during the Southern Song Dynasty in 1258 , this route was one of them.
