Michał Sobol (* 1970 in Cerekiew near Radom ) is a Polish poet whose works have won several Polish literary prizes.

Life

Sobol studied philosophy and church history at the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Krakow . Since 1998 he has lived in the village of Zabierzów Bocheński near Niepołomice . He works several times a week in a monastery library in Krakow .

In 2001 he made his debut with the volume of poetry Lamentacje and was awarded the Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna Prize. Interest in his lyrical work increased with the publication of the volume Pulsary , which was nominated for the Wisława Szymborska Prize and the Gdynia Literature Prize in 2014. In 2017 he won the Gdynia Literature Prize for the volume Schrony .
