Michael Ausserer

Michael Ausserer (born August 4, 1980 in Bozen ) is a South Tyrolean journalist , former head of the PULS 4 TV show Café Puls and editor-in-chief of the media house of the Archdiocese of Vienna since 2016 .

Life

Michael Ausserer comes from South Tyrol . He attended the Catholic grammar school and Lyceum of the Franciscans in Bolzano and then studied journalism and communication science and history at the University of Vienna. After experience at RAI Bozen and the ORF regional studio Tyrol, Ausserer joined the new Viennese city broadcaster Puls TV in 2004 (since 2007 PULS 4 has been part of ProSiebenSat.1 Media ). It was there that the master of journalism set up the breakfast television format Café Puls , which he headed from 2013 to 2016. Ausserer has been editor-in-chief of the media house of the Archdiocese of Vienna and thus also editor-in-chief of the Catholic weekly newspaper Der Sonntag (Vienna) since autumn 2016 . Michael Ausserer regularly moderates events in the church, social and economic area and also appears as a columnist and expert in various Austrian media.

Since spring 2020, Ausserer has been a member of the “Aufdecker Netzwerk” against false information regarding the Corona Virus. The network currently consists of around 20 participants and is made up of representatives from the Austrian media and experts from civil society, science and research. It was launched on March 19, 2020 by the digital crisis team in the Federal Chancellery.

Michael Ausserer is married and has two children.
