Michael Bachinger

Michael Bachinger (born September 13, 1898 in Oed ; † August 6, 1985 in Wallsee-Sindelburg ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Bachinger was a member of the Lower Austrian regional parliament and a regional councilor in the Lower Austrian regional government .

Life

Bachinger attended agricultural courses after primary school and did military service from 1916 to 1918. He then worked as a farmer in Hehenberg (Wallsee-Sindelburg municipality).

Bachinger began his political career as a councilor, where he held the office from 1922 to 1938 and 1945. From November 22, 1934 to November 6, 1935 he represented the state of agriculture and forestry in the state parliament of Lower Austria, where he was elected to the state council on November 6, 1935. Bachinger resigned from office on July 6, 1937. After the National Socialists came to power, Bachinger was imprisoned.

Bachinger was the chairman of the main district party and between 1945 and 1950 was the chairman of the district chamber of farmers in Amstetten . Between 1947 and 1965 he also served as Vice Mayor of Sindelburg and had several functions in agricultural cooperatives. Bachinger was again a member of the state parliament from December 12, 1945 to November 19, 1964 and was also deputy chairman of the financial control committee from December 13, 1945 to November 5, 1949.
