Baldeh came from a prominent family in Upper Fullada East in the 1950s and 1960s and was a member of the Fulbe . The Roman Catholic teacher was politically active in the 1950s, vacillating between the Gambia Muslim Congress (GMC) and the Gambia Democratic Party (GDP). Before the 1960 election to the House of Representatives , he was courted by the People's Progressive Party (PPP) and the United Party (UP) as a candidate for the constituency of Basse . Although he was originally nominated by the PPP, which had also paid the fee for him, he had the UP in Basse stand up as a candidate and was ultimately elected there with a clear majority.

For the 1962 election he was re-elected by the UP and won this election for a seat in the House of Representatives . At the end of 1963 he switched to PPP.

Baldeh died in July 1965. His son Bubacarr Michael Baldeh was later also politically active.
