Michael Bociurkiw

Michael Bociurkiw (2015)

Michael Bociurkiw (* 1961 in Canada ) is a Canadian journalist, public relations worker and Ukraine expert. He is of Ukrainian descent and grew up in Ottawa, Canada . Since 2008 he has lived in Sidnay on Vancouver Island .

Bociurkiw worked as a journalist in North America and Asia. He worked as a communications consultant for the United Nations , UNICEF and the World Health Organization . In the parliamentary elections in Ukraine in 2012 , he was present as a Canadian election observer.

Bociurkiw is spokesman for the OSCE observer mission during the war in Ukraine since 2014 and was known in this capacity worldwide; his office as an OSCE observer is in Kiev . He was one of the first neutral persons to gain access to the crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 .
