Michael Boenke

Michael Boenke (* 1958 in Sigmaringen ) is a German crime and textbook author and works as a teacher in Bad Saulgau.

Live and act

Boenke studied German and Catholic theology . From 2002 to 2010 he worked at the Catholic Institute for Vocational Religious Education at the University of Tübingen . During this time he co-authored several religious education textbooks. Since 2010 he has been working as a teacher at the vocational school center in Bad Saulgau , where he also lives. He achieved notoriety above all with a series of detective novels with autobiographical features. The focus of the novels is the Upper Swabian religion teacher Daniel Bönle , who is repeatedly involved in criminal cases and, to the chagrin of the local police, is investigating himself. The six volumes, which all take place in the Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried area in the Sigmaringen district , are called Gott'sacker (published 2010), Riedripp (2011), Nonnenfürzle (2012), Kuhnacht (2013), Kässpätzlesexitus (2015) and Verumpft (2017) ) and published by Messkircher Gmeiner-Verlag . Boenke describes himself as a “fast writer” who “mainly writes during the summer holidays”.
