Michael Brake
Michael Brake (born October 22, 1994 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand rower .
Career
The 1.87 m tall Michael Brake rowed the gold medal in a four-man with helmsman at the Junior World Championships in 2012 . In 2014 he won the silver medal at the U23 World Championships in a four with helmsman . In 2015 Brake took part in the World Championships in the adult class for the first time with the New Zealand eighth , where it achieved fourth place. With this placement, the New Zealanders also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games. In the final of the Olympic Regatta in Rio de Janeiro , the New Zealanders took sixth place.
In 2017, Brake finished sixth at the world championships with eighth . In the following year, Brake and Thomas Murray took fifth place at the world championships in a two-man team without a helmsman . In 2019 at the World Championships in Linz Murray and Brake won the silver medal behind the Croatians Martin and Valent Sinković .
