Thomas "Tom" Murray (born April 5, 1994 in Blenheim ) is a New Zealand rower .

The 1.89 m tall Thomas Murray rowed the gold medal in the foursome with helmsman at the 2012 Junior World Championships . In 2013 and 2014 he won the title at the U23 World Championships in eighth place . In 2015 Murray took part in the World Championships in the adult class for the first time with the New Zealand eighth , where he reached fourth place. With this placement, the New Zealanders also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games. In the final of the Olympic Regatta in Rio de Janeiro , the New Zealanders took sixth place.

In 2017, Murray formed a two-man without a helmsman with James Hunter , who both won the World Cup final in Lucerne. At the 2017 World Championships, the Italians won ahead of the Croats, Murray and Hunter won the bronze medal. In the following year, Murray finished fifth at the world championships together with Michael Brake . In 2019 at the World Championships in Linz , Murray and Brake won the silver medal behind the Croatians.
