Michael Brenčič

Michael Brenčić (* 10. September 1879 in Krottendorf / Žabjak, community Ragoznica ; † 22. November 1954 in Ptuj ) was a politician and landowner. He was a member of the Austrian House of Representatives .

Life

Brenčič was born as the son of the Slovenian farmer and brickworks owner Michael Brenčič. He attended primary school in Pettau / Ptuj and earned his living as a large landowner in Spuhla (German: Pichldorf, today Spuhlja, city of Ptuj). He also ran an inn there. He did his military service in Ljubljana with the stud industry and was sergeant in the reserve. During the First World War he served as an accounting sergeant on the Eastern Front. He was a member of Allslowenischen People's Party ( Slovenska kmečka zveza za Štajersko ) and a candidate in the Imperial Council election in 1911 in the constituency of Styria 26 . He was able to achieve a mandate there and was a member of the House of Representatives of the Reichsrat from July 17, 1911 to November 12, 1918. There he was from 1911 to 1917 a member of the "Hrvatsko slovenska zajednica" (Croatian-Slovenian Association) in the Hrvatsko slovenski club , which was in May 1917 in the South Slavic club.

Brenčič was married to Marija Šamperl and had at least two daughters.
