Michael Broderick

Michael Joseph "Mike" Broderick (born May 3, 1963 ) is a retired American basketball player who also has Irish citizenship. The 2.04 m tall wing and inside player played as a professional in Germany for 16 years.

career

Broderick played in his American homeland until 1981 at Saint Patrick High School in Chicago (State of Illinois ) and from 1981 to 1985 at Christian Brothers University in Memphis (Tennessee) . For "CBU" he scored a total of 1813 points and 813 rebounds in four years and was therefore in second place in the university team's list of all-time basket hunters when he left them in 1985. In 2011 he was inducted into the “Hall of Fame” of the university's sports department.

After graduating from college, he embarked on a career as a professional basketball player and went to Germany. There he played from 1985 to 1990 for Eintracht Hildesheim in the regional league and the 2nd basketball league , before he played for the second division club BG 74 Göttingen from 1990 to 1997 . In 1997 he moved within the second division to BCJ Hamburg , with whom he  rose to the basketball league in 1999, where he made 19 missions for the Hanseatic League in the 1999/2000 season, scoring 4.1 points on average.

In the 2000/01 season he was in the service of the second division club SC Rist Wedel and went back to Hildesheim during the season for professional reasons, where he again played for Eintracht (now in the major league). In October 2004 Broderick moved back to his native USA.
