Michael Engelmann (politician)

Michael Engelmann (born April 15, 1969 in Bremen ) is a Bremen politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the Bremen Parliament .

biography

Engelmann graduated from high school in Bremen Walle in 1988 and then trained as an industrial clerk at Kaffee HAG . After completing his training, he was a commercial clerk there from 1991 to 1993. He was youth and trainee representative and member of the works council at Kaffee HAG. In 1994 he was a commercial clerk at the Mieter-Bauverein eG for a few months, then until 1999 a commercial clerk at the DMB Mieterverein Bremen.

Engelmann became a member of the SPD in 1990. In 1992 he was elected to the board of the local association Gröpelingen , in 1994 he became the second chairman and organization and election campaign manager of the local association Gröpelingen as well as subdistrict and state delegate. From June 1995 to June 1999 he was a member of the advisory board at the Gröpelingen local office, where he was spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group. From 1999 to 2003 Engelmann was a member of the Bremen citizenship .

Engelmann is openly gay. From 2002 to 2003 he was national chairman of the lesbians and gays in the SPD , the so-called Schwusos .
