Michael Foedrowitz (* 1953 in Hanover ) is a German historian of contemporary history , journalist and academic publicist .

Life

Michael Foedrowitz was born a few years after the end of the Second World War in 1953 in Hanover's Zoo district. After graduating from school, he studied Central and Eastern European contemporary history and German at the University of Hanover from 1975 to 1985 . During this time he also stayed in Spain, Algeria and Holland in 1976 and 1977 and accompanied various rock bands on numerous tours as a photographer during his studies.

From 1988 to 1989 Foedrowitz also studied in Warsaw and London as part of a scholarship abroad . He then worked as a freelance worker on numerous film and television documentaries, including for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Polish television. He also gave numerous lectures at universities in England and Poland.

Foedrowitz has been researching bunkers in Northern Germany since 1994 and has published several publications about them, for example in Berlin's Christoph Links Verlag .
