Michael Göttsche

Michael Göttsche (born November 6, 1934 in Hamburg , † 2013 in Dresden ) was a German draftsman , painter and sculptor .

Life

Göttsche was born in Hamburg. First he learned the profession of a decorative painter and practiced this until the resettlement. The family moved to Dresden in the 1950s. From 1956 to 1958 he began studying sculptor at the Dresden University of Fine Arts there . From 1958 he settled down in Dresden and worked as a decorative painter in his trained profession until 1975. During this time self-didactic learning of sculpture. From 1975 freelance work in Dresden. From 1988 to 1998 he worked in the studio in the Künstlerhaus Dresden-Loschwitz . He was a member of the Association of Visual Artists . He regularly exhibited his works in the Dresden art exhibitions. For the artistic design of the Dresden-Gorbitz residential area, he worked out various model proposals in 1984 (archival signature 13.)

In addition to working in public spaces, he created numerous small sculptures. His most important was the bronze sculpture Three Horsemen of the Apocalypse . During the exhibition 100 Years of the Künstlerhaus Dresden-Loschwitz in 1998, he presented the bronze sculpture Das Einhorn (1977) in the Leonhardi Museum Dresden . In 1977 he created two cartoon characters for the film Peter on the Rose Hill. After illness he died in Dresden in 2013.
